Have an engagement session coming up soon and looking for some tips & inspiration for something a little bit different? You’re in the right place! Here is some inspiration and tips for your Charleston Engagement photos.
Let’s first chat about using some florals! Although we ended up using just a simple white bouquet. Incorporating florals- simple or elaborate- is a perfect way to have something a little bit different.
Let’s also just chat for a minute about getting a few solo images of one another. I know this seems somewhat counterintuitive for a session that is supposed to be about your connection and relationship. But I am all for at least a few images of each other individually. It’s such a nice thing for you each to have of one another! And while you may not be showcasing these in your home, having them for your phone background or in your album, is just so nice!
Also requesting your photographer to get some details of your hair if you’re getting it professionally done (which I highly suggest!) and your flowers. You don’t need a crazy amount, but just a few to remember these little things that made this day and time so special and unique.
Something that can really make your engagement photos unique is choosing a photographer who at least shoots partly film images. While film photographers are on the rise, this format is something that has been a bit lost over the years, but the artistic element it brings is definitely not to be forgotten!
So many of the extraordinary compliments I get on my images are usually film. They have such a je ne sais q’oui factor about them and your friends won’t be able to help but notice. As well as you will truly be receiving a unique piece of artwork.
Incorporate something unique to you in the shoot. Kayla and Seth actually met one night out dancing, so incorporating a little bit of dance was something super special to them!
There ya have it! Some tips and inspo for your Charleston engagement photos 🙂
