Texas Elopement Inspiration

First of all I am so stinking excited about this gorgeous styled elopement!! So sharing this right now is making me giddy! This was the fourth opportunity I’ve created to shoot film and every time I use it, I just fall more in love with it! It’s definitely the direction I’m heading and moving to slowly with my images. So be prepared to see so many more dreamy film shots in the years ahead! I decided to create this picnic style Texas elopement as a way to showcase that elopements do not have to be simply in the court house! The beautiful thing about an elopement is you aren’t living into anyone’s expectations but your own. You can create it however you want. To me, they are the ultimate romance. In this particular one, we created a sweet little picnic as the couple’s way to celebrate! This took place in Buffalo Springs Lake & Ransom Canyon, but there are so many gorgeous places to hold your elopement in the state of Texas! Originally we planned for this to take place at Palo Duro Canyon in Canyon. However, due to literal TORNADOES blowing through the day before and closing down the park, we quickly changed plans and made something so beautiful around the Lubbock, Texas area. And I’m literally obsessed!

It’s a must to get images of both the bride and groom solo!

This cute little lake served a perfect backdrop for our little elopement ceremony! While I’m all about EPIC views for elopements, finding something simple and beautiful outdoors, even in your own neck of the woods works to make something so incredibly gorgeous.

Of course taking your bride and groom photos together is 100% happening at your elopement. Be sure that your photographer plans a timeline that works well with the lighting. Timeline planning is a must for all of my couples and this doesn’t exclude elopements. Since you aren’t on anyone’s schedule but yourself, you have complete control of choosing the most beautiful, brilliant light of day.

Be sure that your photographer gets any kind of details! Having images of just this adorable little picnic setup, though so simple, will make your day feel so special.
